But one thing is for sure: Cars had far more character, as these two Estates from the glory era of automotive exuberance can tell. The 1965 Ford Country Squire and its´ opponent from Chrysler, the 1967 Town & Country, show so much personality that even a wrecked industrial park in Northern Germany looks like Detroit.

Both cars offer huge space and smooth V8s with more than 350 cui. Plus, their interiors appear to be cosy, but spacious design lofts, created with a post-aeronautic, but down-to-earth mentality. Shooting and driving both cars for Motor Klassik, I still haven´t found my favourite…
