A Volkswagen Golf might be the dullest car on earth. No passion, no feel, no need for love. But things change completely when you are handed over the keys of their sportiest versions. The Mk. 4 Golf R32 was the first of its´ kind, with a powerfull 3.2 liter engine. Back in 2002, it was a true hit.

Same applies to the successor, the Mk. 5 Golf R32 which followed in 2007. The maniacs of HGP even offered a turbo kit, producing a decent 405 hp. I had the pleasure to shoot both cars for Motor Klassik. And I was happy relying on their four wheel drive systems, since pourring rain flooded the streets around Wolfsburg completely. Apart from the weather, not a bad day with two future classics.
